Cricket / Shikhar Dhawan is out of the T-20 series against the West Indies due to a knee injury, replacing Sanju Samson.
- Samson was not selected in the squad for the Windies T-20 series
- India will play three T-20 and three ODIs against the Windies
- Both teams will play the first T-20 at Hyderabad on December 6

Wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson has found a place in the T-20 series against the West Indies in place of injured Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan was injured in his left ankle in a match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Due to that he has been out of the tournament.
Earlier, BCCI BCCI sources said, "The final decision on Dhawan will be taken after the medical report arrives. If it does not fit on time, Samson is likely to get a chance." Dhawan was injured in a match against Maharashtra at Surat. He pitched a dive to avoid a runout while batting. In the meantime a stick of kicks in his pad had fallen to his knees. The doctors had to make it.
Samson was not selected in the Windies series
On November 21, the selection committee announced the ODI and T-20 series against the West Indies. Kerala's wicketkeeper batsmen could not find a place in it. On the board's decision, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and off-spinner Harbhajan Singh expressed their displeasure. Samson was included in the squad in the T-20 series against Bangladesh. However, he did not become a part of Playing-11 in all three matches.
