Fastag compulsory starting December 1
- Central government has mandated toll tax collection by Fastag from 1st December.
- If someone does not put this fastag on their car they will have to pay double toll

To reduce congestion and pollution levels at the toll plaza, the central government has mandated the levy of toll tax from December 1 through Fastag. If someone does not put this fastag on their car they will have to pay double toll. Fastag is operated by National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI).
How Fastag works::
It is a radio frequency identification tag that is mounted on the vehicle's windshield. When a vehicle passes through the toll plaza, the device imposes a tax. It saves drivers time. According to NPCI data, more than 528 toll plazas are currently being levied by Fastag on the country.
Fastag can be purchased from here::
Toll Plaza, SBI, HDFC, ICICI and other bank managed by National Highway Authority of India, Online, Platform, Paytm, Amazon.com. Fastag can also be purchased through Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum Petrol Pump, National Highway Authority's My Fast App.

All these documents must be accompanied by an original copy at the time of the purchase of FastTag

A 2.5% cashback is being provided on the use of Fastag for the financial year 2019-20.
